\"Eirikurgstephesen\"Eir\u00edkur G. Stephensen has been appointed Head of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Music School. Eir\u00edkur has spent most of his career as Head of the Eyjafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Music School, where he managed and developed music education across three schools in the Eyjafjar\u00f0arsveit municipality. In addition, Eir\u00edkur has worked as a brass teacher and conducted various brass bands. Eir\u00edkur holds a brass teaching qualification with the trumpet as his principal instrument, as well as a degree from the theory department of the Reykjav\u00edk Music School.<\/p>\n

Eir\u00edkur completed a Master's degree in Education and Cultural Management, with a focus on Educational Management, from the University of Bifr\u00f6st in 2017. Eir\u00edkur has composed music for plays and musicals, and is a member of the band \u201eHundur \u00ed \u00f3skilum\u201c, which is well-known to many in the country. Eir\u00edkur has also served on the board of the Association of Music School Teachers, the Association of Music School Principals, and has been active in the music schools' associations. A total of eight applications for the post were received, but one was withdrawn. Eir\u00edkur will start work on 1 October.<\/p>\n
