Major holidays usually generate a bit more rubbish than is typical for other months of the year. In December and up to 14th January, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur plans to sell extra bags for general rubbish. These bags can be placed next to your rubbish bin and will be collected during the regular rubbish collection in the town during this period. The bags are made of biodegradable plastic and are specially marked for this project.<\/p>\n
The extra bags are intended only for general household waste and will be collected at the next emptying of the grey bin. The grey bin is for general household waste such as food scraps, nappies and food-contaminated packaging, as well as metals. No recyclable paper or hazardous waste should be placed in this bin; in such cases, use the blue bin or take your waste to the nearest neighbourhood collection point or to Sorpa.
