On St. Lucia's Day, prizes were awarded for the best-decorated houses, the best-decorated street and the best-decorated block of flats in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. At the beginning of December, residents of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and other interested parties were encouraged to put on their big Christmas glasses and send in a tip about the house in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur that they think stands out in this year's Christmas decorations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Residents at Hno\u00f0ravellir 7 won first prize and a gift voucher from HS Veitur for the best-decorated house. Certificates were also awarded for 2nd and 3rd place, which went to Hellisgata 34 and \u00derastar\u00e1s 11.\u00a0 Furuvellir 13-25 was chosen as the best-decorated street, and a plaque has already been erected on the street in recognition of this.
