In a youth centre<br \/>\nA wide range of activities is available to young people aged 16-25 in a drug-free and<br \/>\na safe environment. A role that will, over time, be shaped by the group itself.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor of the Borough of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir,<br \/>\nrecently formally handed over the premises to the project manager of a youth centre which manages<br \/>\nthe activities of the house and welcomes all young people there. John Fri\u00f0rik Bond Gr\u00e9tarsson,<br \/>\nA leisure and social studies specialist, was appointed as a project manager at the end of 2018.<br \/>\nand has since then worked on alterations to the premises and their implementation<br \/>\na strategy that was established last year. John Bond was brought up in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.<br \/>\nand knows from first-hand experience how important it is to offer solutions,<br \/>\nopportunities and support at the right point in young people's lives.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20190215_121403-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"20190215_121403\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 2048px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 2048\/1152;\"><sup>Mayor R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir here formally hands over the keys to the new youth centre to John Bond.<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201eWe started with a needs analysis for<br \/>\nyouth centre and strategic planning for its activities at the end of 2017 and was<br \/>\nThe conclusion was that it would be sensible for the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur to launch a new<br \/>\nA community centre for the 16-25 age group. We need to keep a close eye on<br \/>\nthis often fragile group that needs fellowship, communication and support<br \/>\nto hold on to these important formative years in one's life\u201c<\/em> says Geir Bjarnason<br \/>\nthe sports and leisure representative of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, who is one of those who has<br \/>\nTake great care with this work. <em>\u201eThis<br \/>\nThe project aligns well with the council's other projects in the field of prevention.<br \/>\nand the promotion of health and well-being among our young people. Now the young people<br \/>\nhave their own premises where they can learn together, get involved, and receive assistance.<br \/>\nimplementing ideas, pursuing their interests and meeting friends and colleagues in safe and<br \/>\ngood place<\/em>\u201csays Geir.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The youth centre is open from 13:00 to 17:00 every weekday.<br \/>\ndays. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, it is open until 22:00.
