With that<br \/>\nA regulation authorised the levying of a charge on all ships larger than 8 tons that docked<br \/>\nat anchor or other moorings within a line drawn from Balaclava Rock in<br \/>\nHvaleyrarh\u00f6f\u00f0i.<\/p>\n<p>The harbour dues went into<br \/>\nharbour fund and thus a foundation for the funding of the works was established<br \/>\nHarbour construction. Preparation for construction<br \/>\nThe construction of a seaport dock began in the same year, and dock construction commenced in the spring of 1912. The country's first proper seaport dock was<br \/>\nsince its consecration at a ceremony in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in February 1913. That undertaking was a great boost for<br \/>\nthe municipality, but Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has been, since the Middle Ages, one of the most important<br \/>\nthe country's harbour and transport hub, as all conditions are right for a safe harbour,<br \/>\nUnique from nature.<\/p>\n<h4>A photo and story exhibition was set up on Strandst\u00edg during the year.<\/h4>\n<p>To mark this milestone in the history of the harbour, a photo and history exhibition will be set up on the Strand later this year.
