{"id":13766,"date":"2019-03-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/ahersla-a-ad-nutimavaeda-og-throa-thjonustuna\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T09:01:26","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:01:26","slug":"emphasis-on-the-development-of-services-and-the-training-of-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/en\/ahersla-a-ad-nutimavaeda-og-throa-thjonustuna\/","title":{"rendered":"Emphasis on modernising and developing the service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Organisational changes at the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is proposed in the Capacent report on<br \/>\nthat the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's service provision will be changed by an amendment to the plan which<br \/>\ncontribute to improving and developing the service, with the aim of solving as many problems as possible<br \/>\nmost matters on first contact digitally or via the call centre. Town Council<br \/>\ndecided at its meeting this morning to refer proposals for the first steps in this reform process<br \/>\nfor further processing by the town council. The changes are expected to come into effect<br \/>\nby 1 September at the latest.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The past<br \/>\nIn the autumn, it was decided to launch a review of the services of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and to seek<br \/>\nways to strengthen and improve it. There were indications that much could be improved.<br \/>\ngo, for example, requests, enquiries and suggestions are most appropriately from<br \/>\nthe townspeople were not being properly looked after. Then there were indications that this could be done, that<br \/>\nat least in part, attributable to the fact that the pressure on the professional areas would be greater than they<br \/>\nto attend to. The Town Council agreed in September 2018 to enter into a contract with<br \/>\nCapacent on an evaluation of the governance system of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, which would look<br \/>\nspecifically on how to increase services and operational efficiency and<br \/>\nthe council's operations through the use of information technology and clearer procedures<br \/>\nand a dynamic working environment. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir, Mayor:&nbsp;<\/strong><em>\u201eService to the town's residents and businesses is a fundamental task.<br \/>\nof each municipality. We want Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur to be at the forefront of that and for them<br \/>\nthat anyone who approaches the town shall receive the swiftest and best possible resolution of their matters.<br \/>\nThe review of the service provision revealed that there is much room for improvement.<br \/>\nnot least because infrastructure and procedures have not changed in line with<br \/>\nchanged needs and a changed environment. With these changes, we are taking<br \/>\nan important step towards improving and modernising the services of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. We<br \/>\nWe want to resolve as many enquiries as possible on the first contact, and we do this not least by<br \/>\ndevelopment and strengthening of digital service channels.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>The outcome of the total and the consultation with residents and<br \/>\nstaff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00cd<br \/>\nThe analysis carried out in recent months has focused on establishing<br \/>\nthe view of the majority, both within the administration and among the town's residents. Among other things<br \/>\nA special feedback portal was opened where residents could send suggestions to the advisors.<br \/>\nregarding matters concerning the town's services that could be improved. Then a meeting was held<br \/>\nA residents' meeting in November where the provision of services by the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur was discussed. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00cd<br \/>\nA Capacent report to the town council states that there is significant pressure on professional departments and a shortage<br \/>\nFlaws in procedures have led to the fact that the service of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has not<br \/>\nto evolve and strengthen in step with changing times. Work processes are largely based on<br \/>\nolder tradition and was not suitable for the extensive activities undertaken by the municipality.<br \/>\ntoday. A significant increase in workload could be met with an increased number of full-time equivalent posts, but in the assessment<br \/>\nThe advisors point out that it is unwise in the long term. Not least is<br \/>\na need to significantly enhance services that can be resolved on first contact, either<br \/>\ndigitally or in a call centre. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>New field of service and development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Laid<br \/>\nis to change the division of labour in service provision so that it is separated on<br \/>\nbetween, on the one hand, services that can be resolved at first contact and, on the other<br \/>\nregarding services that it is necessary to carry out in the relevant professional fields<br \/>\nexperts.
