The police in the capital region and
\nThe City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur have joined forces and established a partnership and
\na development project which aims to enhance the cooperation of these parties in matters
\nchildren and adolescents. This is a one-year pilot project that is getting underway.
\nNow in mid-March and receives a grant from the Public Health Fund.<\/p>\n

Sigr\u00ed\u00f0ur Bj\u00f6rk Gu\u00f0j\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, police commissioner in
\nthe capital region has spearheaded the project and has
\nThe City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has been involved in preparations for the past month. Sigr\u00ed\u00f0ur Bj\u00f6rk says
\nthe experience is that interdisciplinary collaboration yields much greater results than when
\nUnits work independently, and this is where crime prevention is carried out on a broad scale.
\ncontext. With this pilot project, the police will have the opportunity to do better in
\nissues concerning children and young people, and that these groups are high on the police's agenda. The project
\ninvolves close cooperation between the police and those who work on children's affairs and
\nyouth services at the local council. These include child protection, domestic violence teams and
\ninvolvement in preventative work in primary and nursery schools, youth centres and
\nyouth centre, to name but one. Birgir \u00d6rn Gu\u00f0j\u00f3nsson, a police officer,
\nis responsible for the project on behalf of the police but will be based at the Town Hall
\nHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Strandgata 6. <\/p>\n

The Mayor of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, R\u00f3sa
\nGu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir, celebrates this interesting innovation project and thereby increased
\ncooperation between the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the police in the capital region. \u201cThis
\nThe pilot project fits very well with our priorities in BR\u00daNNI, a project that has
\nhas been in development for the last few months and involves responding to issues earlier and
\nEmphasis is placed on increasing services for families at an earlier stage.
\nThe collaborative project between the police and the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur also fits well with
\nthe municipality's plans for a Child-Friendly Municipality, which will be developed in collaboration
\nwith UNICEF,\u201d says R\u00f3sa. <\/p>\n
