A clean-up day in the street or neighbourhood offers a fun<br \/>togetherness. A request for bags to be collected after neighbourhood cleaning should be sent to<br \/> <a class=\"netfang\" href=\"mailto:\">hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is <\/a> \u2013 some neighbourhoods have already got started! The future is bright with these!<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"internal\" href=\"\/en\/province\/news\/spring-opening-starts-tomorrow\/\"><strong>Spring cleaning on streets, pavements and footpaths<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spring sweeping begins on Tuesday, 9th April. The town is divided into 15 neighbourhoods, which are signposted the day before sweeping with a notice of the planned schedule. We encourage families and businesses to sweep the area around them before the sweeper arrives!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"internal\" href=\"\/en\/province\/news\/er-grodurinn-thinn-til-vandraeda-fyrir-adra\/\"><strong>CLEARANCE OF VEGETATION AND PLOTS&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now is the right time for tree and shrub pruning. While Clean-up Days are underway, it is an ideal opportunity to get busy in the garden. Special attention is drawn to the fact that landowners are required to keep the growth of trees and shrubs on their property within the property boundaries. Tree growth can cause inconvenience and even danger to pedestrians and motorists.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"internal\" href=\"\/en\/province\/news\/garda-parade-sick-home-1-2\/\"><strong>Garden waste collected at home<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Garden waste will be collected from 6th \u2013 20th May. On 6th May in the north and west boroughs, Hraunum and the town centre. On 13th May in Setberg, Kinnum and Hvammar, and on 20th May in \u00c1sland, V\u00f6llum and Holti.
