There were around four hundred competitors in 12 categories, with the largest turnout in the youngest age groups. Competitors came from all the town's sports clubs, and many promising runners were taking their first steps there.<\/p>\n<p>Birta \u00de\u00f6ll Sveinbj\u00f6rnsd\u00f3ttir was the first woman to finish in the 15 and over category, and H\u00f6r\u00f0ur Halld\u00f3rsson was the first man in the 15 and over category. The weather was very good during the race. The athletics section of FH organised the race. Prizes were provided by the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and all competitors received a prize medal, while the first competitors to finish in each category received trophy cups.
