The deadline for applications was 22 April 2019, and the first plots were allocated at a town council meeting yesterday. Development in the neighbourhood is already underway. All plots in Phase 1 have been allocated, several in Phase 2, and there is significant interest in the plots in the third and final phase.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All information about available plots in Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0, their size, appearance and price can be found on the information page for the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar neighbourhood: <a href=\"https:\/\/skardshlidin.is\/\">www.skardshlidin.is<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>A true natural gem in a superb location.<\/h4>\n<p>Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0in is a new, family-friendly housing estate in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, situated on flat ground and a slope to the south and west of \u00c1sfjall. The design and planning of the neighbourhood has emphasised a holistic vision, cohesive streetscapes, sustainable development, green spaces, and a diverse outdoor environment. All amenities are within easy reach, employment opportunities in the local area are plentiful, and there is close proximity to the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur uplands and beautiful natural attractions.<\/p>\n<h4>Mixed residential development<\/h4>\n<p>In the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar neighbourhood, a mixed development of detached houses, semi-detached houses, terraced houses and low-rise blocks of flats is rising. Plots for multi-unit properties are situated on the flat near the school, but the development then ascends the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0arbrekkan slope, with terraced houses and semi-detached houses at the bottom and detached houses further up where the gradient is steeper. The neighbourhood is suitable for everyone, whether it's couples, small or large families, or older individuals who want to downsize but still move into a new home. The local primary school, <a title=\"Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 School (Opens in a new browser tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.skardshlidarskoli.is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 School<\/a> , has already opened, and a nursery will open in autumn 2019. The development of the neighbourhood is divided into three phases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phase 1:<\/strong> Plots for 26 blocks of flats with 231 flats, situated on a flat site. All plots sold.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Phase 2:<\/strong> Plots for detached, semi-detached, terraced and block-built houses, comprising a total of 165 dwellings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Phase 3:<\/strong> Plots for detached houses, semi-detached houses, terraced houses and flats, totalling 120 dwellings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Good transport links and works on the Hamranes line relocation to begin<\/h4>\n<p>Transport links between neighbourhoods are fairly good and are constantly improving. A new flyover on Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edkurveg has been opened, and the dualling of the Reykjanesbraut within Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is on the horizon. \u00c1svallabraut will then further ease traffic to and from the neighbourhood, as can be seen in the picture. The design and planning of the neighbourhood places an emphasis on cohesive streetscapes and an environmentally friendly layout, and the walking routes to schools and sports facilities are safe and well-designed.
