Nine individuals who have worked for the city for 25 years received recognition for their professional contribution and service to the city. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Once a year, the mayor hosts a coffee reception for staff who have reached 25 years of continuous service. At the ceremony, the mayor thanked the staff for their hard work on behalf of the residents, their colleagues and the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Town Council. Yesterday, nine employees were recognised, who have collectively worked for the municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for 225 years.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth year in a row that the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has recognised staff upon reaching 15 and 25 years of service. This is based on the continuous number of years an employee has worked for the municipality. On their 15-year service anniversary, the department or institution organises a coffee reception for the staff member in question, and as a token of appreciation, the employee receives a book, a handicraft or a work of art as a gift, in addition to flowers.
