The amount allocated to each club is determined, on the one hand, by the equality incentive and, on the other, by the number of members who train regularly in the clubs.\u00a0 The 2019 Equality Incentive Awards were received by the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Boarding Club for the largest percentage increase in girls and the Gymnastics Club Bj\u00f6rk for the largest increase in boys.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Grant awards since 2001<\/h4>\n<p>The allocation of sports grants for athletes under the age of 18 from member clubs of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Sports Association (\u00cdBH) took place on Tuesday, 4th June, in accordance with an agreement between the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Sports Association (\u00cdBH), Rio Tinto and the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. A ceremony was held at the headquarters of Rio Tinto in Iceland in Straumsv\u00edk, where representatives of the clubs received the grants. The agreement between the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Sports Association, Rio Tinto and the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for the allocation of sports grants has been in force since 2001. The agreements have been made for three years at a time, and the most recent one is from 2017, ending at the end of 2019. Rio Tinto and the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur each contribute 10 million per year to the partnership to support children's and youth sports in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Today, the first grant of the year from the fund, or 60%, is being allocated for the number of members who train regularly in the clubs and for equality incentives, totalling 12 million. Applications were invited from \u00cdBH member clubs in April, and 12 clubs applied for support from the fund.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following organisations received support based on agreements and applications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Gymnastics Club kr. 3,200,396.<\/li>\n<li>Gymnastics Club Bj\u00f6rk kr. 2,347,683.<\/li>\n<li>The football club Haukar kr. 1,934,026.<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Ski Club kr. 772,885.<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Swimming Club kr. 761,999.<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Badminton Club kr. 553,356.<\/li>\n<li>The Riding Club S\u00f6rli kr. 404,585.<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Dance Sports Club kr. 368,300.<\/li>\n<li>Golf Club Keilir kr. 302,985.<\/li>\n<li>Sailing Club \u00deytur kr. 232,228.<\/li>\n<li>Sports club Fj\u00f6r\u00f0ur kr. 76,200.<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Boxing Club kr. 45,357.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Gender Equality Incentive Awards were awarded to the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Chess Club, kr. 500,000 for the largest percentage increase of the gender that was underrepresented (girls), and to the gymnastics club Bj\u00f6rk, kr. 500,000 for the largest increase in members of the gender that was underrepresented.
