The school's boys' team has been training hard in<br \/>\nwinter in the hope of making the dream come true and the anticipation in them<br \/>\nThe group and the atmosphere in the village were therefore high before their journey. The group arrived in Iceland on Saturday along with three others.<br \/>\ntour operators and will be in Iceland until 30 July. Mayor R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir<br \/>\ninvited the group to visit the town hall today and gave them a very warm welcome<br \/>\nto Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and Iceland.<\/p>\n<h4>The support and goodwill of many people made the dream a reality.&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<p>Preparations have been underway for almost two years and the project<br \/>\nenjoy great support and goodwill from a number of parties and all those involved<br \/>\nin the planning and execution of the Rey Cup have shown both interest and done everything to<br \/>\nMake the project a success, e.g. by waiving participation fees, etc. Fundraising<br \/>\nto raise enough money to pay for the team's journey to<br \/>\nThe Iceland project was launched in May and, within a few weeks, it was possible to raise sufficient funds.<br \/>\nfrom individuals, companies, institutions and organisations that joined forces<br \/>\nwith the fantastic team #TeamGotAgulu. The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has supported the project well and offered<br \/>\nThe group has been provided with accommodation in the school and other assistance, and a programme has been organised for them.<br \/>\nthe group from the start of the trip until the day of departure. The sports clubs in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur have<br \/>\nalso briefed on the project and offered his assistance and is, among other things, hoping<br \/>\nso that friendly matches can be played against both FH and Haukar, outside the<br \/>\nOrganised match schedule.<\/p>\n<h4>No one has ever travelled beyond the county boundaries<\/h4>\n<p>None of the boys has travelled outside the county before and<br \/>\nIt is a trip abroad, all the way to a sports competition with peers.<br \/>\ntheir dream in Iceland is of a magnitude that we are not used to at all<br \/>\nconditions and terms we can hardly imagine. Over the last 10 years, the couple and the Hafnfir\u00f0ingarnir, Paul<br \/>\nRamses Odour and Rosmary Atieno are running a project which aims to build<br \/>\nand to establish a nursery and primary school in the village of Got Agulu in Kenya, where they are from.<br \/>\nboth originated. With a concerted effort and a great deal of hard work, they managed to collect<br \/>\nfunding to build and open a nursery school in the village in 2012 and<br \/>\nThe primary school opened in August 2015. There are a total of 270 pupils at the school, which is named Verslo.,<br \/>\nwhere the students and teachers of the Business School have generously supported the project.<br \/>\nThe projects have been supported by a number of individuals, companies and organisations.<br \/>\nin Iceland and Icelanders have, among other things, worked with them on development<br \/>\nof the school's work.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/gotagulu.jpg\" alt=\"GotAgulu\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1040px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1040\/780;\"><\/p>\n<h4>No organised sporting activities, but a great interest in football.<\/h4>\n<p>In Got Agulu there is no organised sporting activity, but there is a great deal of<br \/>\nInterest in football. Recently, work has been underway to establish<br \/>\nin the village sports club, and the staff of the primary school have been there for the children.<br \/>\nguidance and support in that task. Already, several Icelandic<br \/>\nSports clubs provided them with important support and encouragement and sent them<br \/>\nnecessary equipment, such as football boots, balls and kits. Regular training began<br \/>\nSoon, about two years ago, this idea came up to apply.<br \/>\nEligibility to play for one of their teams at the ReyCup, which is an international tournament.<br \/>\nA football tournament held annually in Iceland.
