{"id":13925,"date":"2019-08-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/nyjar-syningar-i-hafnarborg-1\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T09:01:59","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:01:59","slug":"new-performances-in-harbour-city-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/en\/nyjar-syningar-i-hafnarborg-1\/","title":{"rendered":"New exhibitions at Hafnarborg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Friday<br \/>\n30 August at 8 p.m.<\/strong> Two new exhibitions will be opened in<br \/>\nPort city, on the other hand <em>All the same<br \/>\ntime,<\/em> Hafnarborg's autumn exhibition, curated by <strong>Andreu Arnarsdottir<\/strong> and <strong>Strengthened<br \/>\nSigur\u00f0arson's<\/strong>, and on the other hand <em>Prison<\/em>,<br \/>\nThe new installation of the artists <strong>Olga<br \/>\nBergmann<\/strong> and <strong>Anna Hallin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The idea behind Hafnarborg's autumn exhibition this year, <em>Everything at the same time<\/em>, is to explore how<br \/>\nArtists are grappling with the freedom found in visual art today. How it is possible<br \/>\nto create meaning from art which can be anything, a painting,<br \/>\nchildren's toy, papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9, movement, idea, opera, gifs. Works will be shown in<br \/>\ndifferent media, from oil painting to performance art, and an attempt to combine them<br \/>\nThey disseminated ideas found in contemporary visual art.<\/p>\n<p>The artists taking part in the exhibition are <strong>Audur Loa Gudnadottir<\/strong>, <strong>Baldvin Einarsson<\/strong>, <strong>B\u00e1ra Bjarnad\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, <strong>R\u00fanar \u00d6rn<br \/>\nMarin\u00f3sson<\/strong>, <strong>Sigr\u00fan Gy\u00f0a Sveinsd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>,<br \/>\n<strong>Steingr\u00edmur Gauti Ing\u00f3lfsson<\/strong> and <strong>Valger\u00f0ur Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir<\/strong>. <em>Everything at the same time<\/em> is the ninth show in<br \/>\nHafnarborg's autumn exhibition series, where the curator's idea is selected from<br \/>\nsubmitted proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Installation of Olga Bergmann and Anna Hallin, <em>Prison<\/em>, is based on their experience with<br \/>\ncreation of artworks for the H\u00f3lmshei\u00f0i prison. They consider ideas about<br \/>\nsurveillance and deprivation of liberty with references to \u201emise en abyme\u201c, or the phenomenon<br \/>\n\u201epicture within a picture\u201c, as a kind of symbol of a closed community within<br \/>\nof society.
