On Friday
\n30 August at 8 p.m.<\/strong> Two new exhibitions will be opened in
\nPort city, on the other hand All the same
\ntime,<\/em> Hafnarborg's autumn exhibition, curated by Andreu Arnarsdottir<\/strong> and Strengthened
\nSigur\u00f0arson's<\/strong>, and on the other hand Prison<\/em>,
\nThe new installation of the artists Olga
\nBergmann<\/strong> and Anna Hallin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The idea behind Hafnarborg's autumn exhibition this year, Everything at the same time<\/em>, is to explore how
\nArtists are grappling with the freedom found in visual art today. How it is possible
\nto create meaning from art which can be anything, a painting,
\nchildren's toy, papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9, movement, idea, opera, gifs. Works will be shown in
\ndifferent media, from oil painting to performance art, and an attempt to combine them
\nThey disseminated ideas found in contemporary visual art.<\/p>\n

The artists taking part in the exhibition are Audur Loa Gudnadottir<\/strong>, Baldvin Einarsson<\/strong>, B\u00e1ra Bjarnad\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, R\u00fanar \u00d6rn
\nMarin\u00f3sson<\/strong>, Sigr\u00fan Gy\u00f0a Sveinsd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>,
\nSteingr\u00edmur Gauti Ing\u00f3lfsson<\/strong> and Valger\u00f0ur Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir<\/strong>. Everything at the same time<\/em> is the ninth show in
\nHafnarborg's autumn exhibition series, where the curator's idea is selected from
\nsubmitted proposals.<\/p>\n

Installation of Olga Bergmann and Anna Hallin, Prison<\/em>, is based on their experience with
\ncreation of artworks for the H\u00f3lmshei\u00f0i prison. They consider ideas about
\nsurveillance and deprivation of liberty with references to \u201emise en abyme\u201c, or the phenomenon
\n\u201epicture within a picture\u201c, as a kind of symbol of a closed community within
\nof society. There, the residents stand outside the all-encompassing surveillance society.
\nmodern, in which most people participate of more or less willing and free will,
\nunlike the prison community and the strict internal control that prevails there
\nsealed systems.<\/p>\n
