\nGu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir, a speech therapist and chairperson of the Language Committee on Icelandic Sign Language,
\nRecently came bearing gifts for all the nurseries in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
\nThe gift is a complete resource from her curriculum \u201eLearning and Playing with Sounds\u201c and
\nis to celebrate Brynd\u00eds's thirty years of service to speech and language therapy. The gift
\nimproves nursery schools' access to materials that prepare children for literacy.<\/em><\/p>\n

Brynd\u00eds has worked in Iceland for over 30 years as
\na speech therapist and has, among other things, published educational material entitled, 'Let's Learn and'
\nPlaying with sounds. Material that has received various awards and is intended for everyone.
\nfor families with children and schools. The curriculum is based on the professional expertise of speech and language therapy,
\nbased on research and experience of working with children, parents and school professionals. The material is a welcome addition to teaching and language stimulation.

On the occasion of this great and momentous milestone in their career, decided
\nBrynd\u00eds, in collaboration with families, businesses and individuals, to donate materials to
\nnurseries in Iceland and all nurseries in the country receive a complete set of materials from L\u00e6rum
\nand play with sounds as a gift to use in their work with nursery children. Additional material
\nsuch as puzzles, stickers and work smocks, which support the sound learning with beautiful
\nAlphabet flashcards are included in the school packs. iPad apps are also provided.
