The Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur today awarded grants from the second round of cultural grants for 2019. Fifteen projects received a grant on this occasion; individuals, cultural groups or organisations, all of which have one thing in common: they are connected to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in one way or another. Cultural and Tourism Committee grants from the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are awarded twice a year for cultural projects that are likely to further enrich and deepen the city's arts scene.<\/p>\n
The following received cultural grants this time:<\/strong><\/p>\n The total amount of grants in this allocation is kr.- 4,919,979. In total, nearly 11 million kr\u00f3na has now been allocated in grants for cultural purposes this year.<\/p>\n Last year saw a welcome change to the scheme when the total funding was increased, which has resulted in more projects receiving grants, and applications were also opened for longer-term partnership agreements. One project received such a contract this time, with B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 being awarded a three-year contract for the music and town festival, Hjarta Hafnarfjar\u00f0ar. Earlier this year, two other projects were awarded such a contract: the Hafnarborg Song Festival and the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Pipe Band for concert performances.<\/p>\n The allocation of grants by the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is based on an assessment of applications. Cultural events, artists, associations or institutions applying for a grant must be connected to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in some way.
