The Christmas tree is a gift from Cuxhaven, Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's twin town in Germany. The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Brass Band and the Threstir Male Choir will perform several Christmas songs, and Bj\u00f6rgvin Halld\u00f3rsson and Au\u00f0ur will sing.<\/p>\n<p>On the first opening weekend, the Yule Lads from the Dimmuborgir sneak in for a visit and play games with the guests of the Christmas village, while on other opening weekends, the red-clad Yule Lads and Gr\u00fdla will host the programme and offer photos in a specially-decorated photo booth. The Christmas Village will be open every Saturday and Sunday during Advent from 13:00\u201318:00 and is bustling with life and festive cheer, where visitors to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur can enjoy the entertainment programme on Thorsplan, visit the little Christmas houses, and explore the town's nearby shops, restaurants and museums.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>A nationally known sales platform <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The small, beautifully decorated Christmas houses in the Christmas Village in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur have become a nationally renowned marketplace for various kinds of giftware, handicrafts and design, ideal for putting in a Christmas stocking, along with delicious food to eat on-site and treats to take home for the festive table. The programme can be found at jolathorpid.is and hafnarfjordur.is, and there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy throughout the opening weekend. On Saturday, Gu\u00f0r\u00fan \u00c1rn\u00fd will perform some Christmas songs and T\u00f3naflj\u00f3\u00f0 will be putting on a magical Christmas show.
