Sigur\u00f0ur Bj\u00f6rgvinsson, deputy chairman of the Pensioners' Association in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, accepted the gift. With him in the picture above are Linda Hildur Leifsd\u00f3ttir, project manager for the Association of Senior Citizens at Hraunsel, and Sj\u00f6fn Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir, Head of Support Services at the Family and Children's Services Department of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Municipality.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Full daylight yesterday for only 4 hours and 9 minutes.<\/h4>\n<p>The winter solstice was yesterday, Sunday, the 22nd. December. In the Greater Capital Area, the winter solstice was at 04:19 yesterday morning, the sun rose at 11:22 and was at its highest point 2.7 degrees above the horizon at 13:26. At the Winter Solstice, the sun set at 15:31 and it was dark not long after. These timings will be roughly the same today on St. Lucia's Day, though the times will vary by a few seconds depending on the sun's position, which means that these are the shortest days of the year. Yesterday, there was only 4 hours and 9 minutes of daylight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Reflective vests available for anyone interested<\/h4>\n<p>Reflective badges from the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are now available at the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's service centre and at the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Library for interested people of all ages. The reflectors were produced and given as a gift to all six-year-olds in the autumn of 2019 when they started primary school. Due to popular demand, it was decided to produce more reflectors, which are now available to everyone.
