There are quite a lot of empty firework boxes, sparklers and sticks lying scattered around the town at the start of the year, and we appeal to residents and businesses in the area to be mindful of their local surroundings and tidy up after the New Year celebrations.<\/p>\n
Let's join hands and clean up after the New Year.<\/strong><\/p>\n As with so much else, many hands make light work. We encourage residents of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and firework buyers to set a good example, clean up after themselves and dispose of any rubbish. Firework rubbish should be taken to the Sorpu collection centres, which opened on 2 January.
