Initially, the focus was mainly on skateboarding, but snowboarding was soon added, and there are now also sections for mountain biking and BMX. Around 140 members aged 5 to 18 take part in organised training with the club, while many more children and young people use the indoor facility every day. The club was given excellent premises in the old fire station at Flatahraun but&nbsp;<\/header>\n<header>The club also trains in Bl\u00e1fj\u00f6ll and elsewhere, wherever the conditions are best.<\/header>\n<header><\/header>\n<header><\/header>\n<header><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/brettafjor.jpg\" alt=\"Snowboarder&#039;s paradise\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1400px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1400\/934;\"><\/header>\n<header>Last night, a large group of children and teenagers were at training on V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan, but the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur had added snow to the slope by V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0akirkja so that ski jumps could be built. This was snow that had been collected from the town's streets and paths. According to J\u00f3n Teit, one of the club's coaches, the members were delighted with the facilities and grateful to the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for bringing the snow. He said there was a great deal of momentum within the club at the moment, pointing to the number of people on the slope as proof.
