Primary School Admissions 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n Enrolment is now open for children starting Year 1 of primary school in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in the autumn of 2020. Enrolment is open until 1 February, and it is the responsibility of parents\/guardians to enrol children in a primary school in their home municipality. Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's primary schools are open to all children, and parents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the activities of the local primary schools. Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is a single school district divided into school catchment areas, and a student's registered address determines which local school they are assigned to. However, it is possible to apply for a place at a school in another area.<\/p>\n Registration is carried out online via My Pages<\/strong><\/a> under: Applications \u2013 Primary Schools. There, the application for a place at the relevant school is selected.<\/p>\n As spring approaches, the school where a child is placed will send parents\/guardians all the necessary information about the school's operations, including information on registrations for after-school club and meal plans, a play scheme for 6-year-olds in August before primary school starts, and anything else that is important to know.<\/p>\n
