{"id":14138,"date":"2020-02-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/framkvaemdir-og-lokanir-a-reykjanesbraut\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T09:02:41","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:02:41","slug":"works-and-closures-on-the-reykjanes-highway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/en\/framkvaemdir-og-lokanir-a-reykjanesbraut\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction and closures on the Reykjanesbraut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Work on the widening of the Reykjanesbraut, from Kald\u00e1rselsvegur west to the Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edkurgatnam\u00f3t, which has been ongoing since autumn 2019, is continuing, and this phase is scheduled for completion on 1 November 2020.\u00a0 Here you can find information about the works and closures this week and in the coming weeks, and the resulting impact on traffic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We point out&nbsp;<a href=\"\/en\/ibuar\/organisation\/reykjanesbraut-framkvaemdir\/\">Information page on the widening of the Reykjanesbraut in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/a>&nbsp;The dualling of the road is a joint project between the Road Administration and the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Construction and closures in the coming days<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Explosions in the coming weeks. <\/strong><\/em>Explosions will begin this week in the slip road at the Reykjanesbraut, between the Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edkurveg roundabout and the Strandgata bridge, and traffic will be stopped while they are underway. The first rock blast will take place on Tuesday, 4 February at 3 p.m., and traffic will be stopped for a few minutes.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Strandgata by the Reykjanesbraut will be closed from 10 am to 6 pm on Thursday, 6 February.<\/em><\/strong> Due to resurfacing of the bridge deck.
