The spotlight in The Lighthouse this week is on John Fri\u00f0rik Bond Gr\u00e9tarsson., <\/a> project manager of Hamar, a youth centre that opened in the old
\nThe tax office at 14 Su\u00f0urgata in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, almost a year ago. In this
\nIn this episode, John tells us about the energy he was full of as a young child and
\nhis struggle to harness the energy and find his path. As a young man, he decided to
\nstudying leisure and social studies and thus utilising their experience and history
\nto strengthen and encourage other young people. <\/p>\n

John Bond was, by his own account, cheerful, in high spirits, impulsive and full of mischief.
\nexceptionalities, and school is not necessarily the setting where these qualities of his
\nthey had a good time. He was in rebellion for several years but decided, at 16
\nAt the age of ___, to play with his parents and the child protection committee when they were imposed on him.
\nultimatums about going into long-term care out of town or taking part in
\na prevention project here in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur which was tailored around him and other energetic people
\nof boys and friends. The group named the project U\u00c1B \u2013 adolescents on the road to recovery \u2013 and shaped
\nin the subsequent environment and social activities where they were allowed to flourish in their own way
\npremises and based on one's own abilities under good guidance. On this
\nAt a certain point, John saw the light and the advantages of stopping the rebellion, taking part and becoming
\na role model and friend to young people who are finding their feet in life. After graduation
\nJohn worked for several years at Vinakot, a homely residential facility and
\nA service centre for young people with multiple problems. <\/p>\n

John also tells us about the work that is taking place.
\nin Hamrin and how he doesn't want to be \u201ethe boss\u201c in the job. The young people themselves
\ntake complete charge of organising evening openings, but the day-to-day work and reception of various and
\na variety of young people of all ages with different interests throughout the day is on
\nhis hand. John and the youths shaped and
\ncreated the youth centre and its work from scratch, and the work is still in development and
\nwill remain.<\/p>\n
