A red weather warning has been issued for the capital region from 7 a.m. tomorrow, meaning that people should not be travelling unless it is absolutely essential.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/raudvidvorun.jpg\" alt=\"Redwood Reservation\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 635px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 635\/468;\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Regular school provision will be cancelled, but nurseries and primary schools will nevertheless remain open with a skeleton staff for people who absolutely need childcare \u2013 namely, those working in emergency services, law enforcement, firefighting and rescue services. The weather is forecast to ease after 3 p.m., meaning that various services will be disrupted or cancelled tomorrow morning and possibly throughout the day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public school classes are cancelled.<\/li>\n<li>The swimming pools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will be closed but will open at 3 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>After-school clubs will open when the alerts end. As things stand, an amber alert is in effect until 15:00.<\/li>\n<li>There will be a reduction in home care services, but emergencies will be dealt with as far as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Museums will be closed tomorrow unless otherwise announced.<\/li>\n<li>The customer service centre and service centre will be open and answering the phone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>People are urged to stay at home tomorrow morning and to pay close attention to announcements from the civil defence authorities in the media.
