The planned sports hall will be fully owned by<br \/>\nThe City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and adding to the facilities that the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur already has<br \/>\nbuilt for sporting activities in the \u00c1svallur area, e.g. the Haukar sports facility,<br \/>\nbasketball hall and \u00c1svallalaug. In addition, the lush greenery may be noted.<br \/>\nSports and fitness activities already operated by private companies in the area<br \/>\nand further strengthen it as a centre for sport and fitness.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/hopmynd_1581675381411-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Hop image_1581675381411\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 2048px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 2048\/1366;\"><\/p>\n<p><sup>R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir, the mayor, and Sam\u00fael Gu\u00f0mundsson, chairman of Haukar, signed the agreement in the magnificent \u00d3lafs Hall, together with Geir Bjarnason, the town's sports and leisure representative, and Magn\u00fas Gunnarsson, managing director of Haukar.<br \/><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>In accordance with<br \/>\nUnder the declaration of intent, Haukar will cede a portion of plot no. 1 at \u00c1svellir. Revenue<br \/>\nto be utilised from the collected plot prices for the new residential development at \u00c1svellir<br \/>\nfor the construction of the football pavilion. A committee was appointed at a meeting<br \/>\nof the town council on 30 January 2020 and she works by agreement<br \/>\nHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and Haukar on development.
