Magn\u00fas Sn\u00e6bj\u00f6rnsson presented the grants on behalf of the board of the Memorial Fund, which he chairs alongside the Reverend J\u00f3n Helgi \u00de\u00f3rarinsson and R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This time, four projects received grants;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inga Bj\u00f6rk Ingad\u00f3ttir received a 1 million kr\u00f3na grant to prepare for the establishment of a department for students with special needs at the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Music School.<\/li>\n<li>The Red Cross Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur branch receives 600,000 kr\u00f3nur for homework help for pupils in years 1-10, and also for a project concerning unaccompanied children.<\/li>\n<li>The sports club Fj\u00f6r\u00f0ur receives 600,000 kr. for its excellent work for children with disabilities.<\/li>\n<li>The Bereavement Centre received a 600,000 kr\u00f3na grant for the 'Children in Grief' courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Helga and Bjarni Memorial Fund has been operating since 2004 and <strong><em>The role of the fund is to support and empower individuals, businesses or public bodies in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur that provide services and assistance to children who are facing any kind of difficulties. <\/em><\/strong>Since the fund was established, 35 projects have received grants. It is the hope of Helga and Bjarni's family that the grants will further enhance the good and rewarding work of the grant recipients for the youth of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
