The aim of the measures is to increase the likelihood that the healthcare system can attend to those who become ill with COVID-19 in this country, as well as be able to provide other emergency services. In the opinion of the Director of Public Health, the likelihood of transmission from young children is considerably lower than from adults, as studies in Iceland and the other Nordic countries show that transmission among children is rare.
