(see below!)&nbsp;<em>You are my hero<\/em> is a children's book that is written about<br \/>\nThe COVID-19 pandemic, but the book is <strong>free online.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/covid19barnabok.jpg\" alt=\"Covid19 Children&#039;s Book\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1100px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1100\/779;\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim in making the book was for parents or others who<br \/>\nThose who work with or care for children will be given the tools to talk to children about the situation that<br \/>\nis now reigning. A survey was conducted among around 1700 parents and children from all over<br \/>\nthe world to assess the spiritual and psychosocial needs of children during<br \/>\nCOVID-19 is ongoing. The framework for the discussion was developed from the findings<br \/>\nthe survey, in addition to which it was trialled and improved before it was then<br \/>\nreleased in its final form. <em>You are my hero<\/em> is a book that should preferably<br \/>\nto be read by a parent (or teacher or other childcare provider) for<br \/>\na child or a small group of children. It is not recommended that children read the book without support.<br \/>\nparents.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/interagencystandingcommittee.org\/iasc-reference-group-mental-health-and-psychosocial-support-emergency-settings\/my-hero-you?fbclid=IwAR3WwUu0o0C835ijwDuyYRtFag4HF9-jsJ0aAxr5ypIydQ6-T_0rq1sVvk8\">Here is a link to all editions of the book.<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The book is available in: Icelandic, English, Ukrainian, Bahasa Malay,<br \/>\nArabic, Spanish, German, Turkish, Danish, French, Chinese, Portuguese,<br \/>\nRussian, Burmese, Sinhala, Albanian, Greek, Italian, Tamil, Polish,<br \/>\nBulgarian, Mongolian, Korean and Latvian, and coming soon to more languages.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The project was developed by a reference group of the harmonised<br \/>\nthe standing committee on mental health and psychosocial support for<br \/>\nemergency situations. (Inter-Agency Standing Committee Reference Group on Mental<br \/>\nHealth and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings (IASC MHPSS RG).)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>_________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raudikrossinn.is\/um-okkur\/frettir\/hetjan-min-ert-thu-barnabok-um-covid-19\">The<br \/>\nIcelandic Red Cross<\/a> has translated this children's book into Icelandic \u2013 and<br \/>\nit is also available in various other languages (see below!) \u201cMy Hero is You\u201d is a book written for children around the<br \/>\nThe world affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. <strong>It is free of charge and available<br \/>\nonline.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A framework of topics to be addressed through the story was<br \/>\ndeveloped using survey results from 1700 people around the world. The book<br \/>\nwas shared through storytelling to children in several countries affected by<br \/>\nCOVID-19. Feedback from children, parents and caregivers was then used to<br \/>\nReview and update the story. \u201cMy Hero is You\u201d should be read by a parent,<br \/>\ncaregiver or teacher alongside a child or a small group of children.
