Registration for the after-school club for the 2020-2021 winter term opens today, Thursday 7th May. <\/strong>The after-school clubs are intended for children in Years 1-4 at all primary schools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Registration takes place on My Pages<\/strong><\/a>.Further information about the application process will be sent to all parents\/guardians of children of school age.<\/p>\n

Applications received before 15 June are given priority, and applications received after this date will not be processed until August.<\/em><\/p>\n

A wide range of extracurricular activities after the regular school day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After-school clubs are for children in Years 1 to 4 and are based at all primary schools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. The role of the after-school clubs is to offer a wide range of recreational activities for pupils after the standard school day has finished. The activities are based on choice, group work, workshops and outdoor pursuits. A mid-afternoon snack is also provided. The aim of the after-school clubs is for every child to enjoy themselves and develop in an environment characterised by warmth, security and respect.<\/p>\n

Winter registration for children's
\nLeisure centres 2020-2021 starts on 7 May 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Registration
\nis done electronically through the site:
\n\u201cMy pages at www.hafnarfjordur.is<\/a> under the heading: Applications \u2013 children's leisure centres<\/a> . Applications
\nreceived prior to 15 June<\/strong> will be given priority in admissions
\nprocess, applications received later may be placed on a waiting list and
\nwill not be processed until August.<\/p>\n

When a child is
\noffered placement at a children's leisure centre the parents will receive an
\nInvitation for placement sent to the email address that was provided and
\nthe parents must respond to, and accept this email within three days of
\nreceiving the email. If the email with the offer for placement is not accepted
\nThe placement will not be activated. If this time limit expires you need to
\nContact the relevant children's leisure centre and get assistance.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

About children's leisure centres<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children's
\nLeisure centres are intended for children in classes 1-4 and are operated in
\nall elementary schools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. The purpose of children's leisure
\ncentres is to offer a variety of after-school recreational activities for the
\npupils. The activities are based on optional choices by the pupils, group work,
\nworkshops and outdoor activities. Early afternoon refreshments are also
\nincluded. Rides in a leisure time activities car are offered to children in
\nclasses 1-4 and this car will be driving the children to exercise classes in those
\nclubs that have entered into contracts for leisure time activities rides. The
\nDuring leisure time activities, the car will at all times have a staff member present who
\nlooks after safety in the car and who makes sure that the children exit the car
\nat the right location. Parents need to register their children specifically for
\nthe leisure time activities car through the registration system \u201cVala\u201d. The
\nThe objective of children's leisure centres is that each child feels comfortable.
\nand gets to develop in an environment that is characterised by friendliness,
\nsecurity and respect.<\/p>\n

Terminating or cancelling the contract and amendments<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to cancel

\nstated that if for some reason the positions at the children's leisure time
\nActivities centres have not been fully staffed when the activities commence in
\nin the autumn there may be some delay in the child beginning to attend the
\nrelevant children's leisure time centre. We remind you that children who are starting school for the
\nFirst-time applicants have priority with respect to placement in children's leisure activities.

There is a selection of diverse and wholesome
\nPlay courses on offer for the graduating groups at the pre-schools \/
\nkindergartens in all children's leisure centres. The courses are held from 6 until
\n24 August, namely from when the summer closure of the play-schools \/
\nkindergartens end and until the elementary schools start their formal operations
