This coming 5th September will mark one year since the St. Jó Wellbeing Centre was opened on the 2nd floor of the building, and all its spaces are currently available for hire. The City of Hafnarfjörður purchased the state's 85.1% share in the property at 41 Suðurgata in the summer of 2017, which previously housed St. Joseph's Hospital.

New proposals for refurbishment and operational development

Ragnheiður Agnarsdóttir was temporarily appointed in the spring as project manager and consultant for the running of the well-being centre, and for the past few weeks has been working on mapping out possibilities for the sensible development of operations in the premises. The proposals include, amongst other things, the establishment of a special society to own and manage the building, and seeking tenders for the works required to bring the entire premises into use. There is currently a waiting list for spaces to rent in the premises, and there is a good chance that the building would be fully occupied quickly once it is completed. It is planned that council work parties will now work on tidying and cleaning over the summer, with the aim of making the building ready for further works, which are scheduled to begin in late summer.

– nýr verkefnastjóri ráðinn Næstu skref í uppbyggingu á Lífsgæðasetri St. Jó voru mörkuð á fundi bæjarráðs Hafnarfjarðar sl. miðvikudag þegar samþykkt var að klára framkvæmdir utanhúss í sumar auk þess að bæta aðgengi og lagfæra handrið í stigahúsi innanhúss. Þann 5. september nk. er eitt ár liðið frá því að Lífsgæðasetur St. Jó var […]

[12

post-14301","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-frettir
["GET
