The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will in<br \/>\nin light of the restrictions that have been in place in recent weeks and months<br \/>\nto blow a joint festival as is customary, but rather encourage residents to<br \/>\nhold their own home festival. The municipality, however, contributes something to<br \/>\nthe celebrations and will offer unexpected but unscheduled events throughout<br \/>\nthe town.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let's paint Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in<br \/>\nflag colours <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>National Day will be celebrated in an unusual and different way.<br \/>\nin Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur this year, and then not least in light of the fact that the country still lives under<br \/>\nrestrictions and a strong will to remain a role model in prevention<br \/>\nand civil protection. Thus, residents are encouraged to barbecue in their own gardens and<br \/>\nentertaining themselves within the town. Regular events such as flag-raisings and home visits<br \/>\nand hospitals will also keep themselves going by transporting Icelandic pop gems<br \/>\nwhich will serve as a historical plaque at the Free Church on East Street, will be unveiled. Residents are also<br \/>\nencouraged to fly a flag, hoist a banner or put a flag in the nearest window<br \/>\nor a flowerpot. Lucky residents will also experience unexpected happenings throughout<br \/>\nthe town where the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Brass Band, the Vinnusk\u00f3lans Art Group, elves and<br \/>\nFairy-tale characters will be bursting onto the scene to entertain anyone who crosses their path. Open<br \/>\nwill be at the council's museums and swimming pools and, as before, entry is free to all of them.<br \/>\nMuseums and free swimming for 17 and under.
