This summer, three new calculators have appeared, all of which aim to make Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's price list<\/a> more accessible and understandable for residents. Calculators for nursery fees, after-school clubs and property taxes have already been launched. <\/p>\n

The implementation is part of improving and developing the council's services with the aim of resolving as many issues as possible in a simple way and on the first contact. Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has offered other municipalities easy access to the solutions and is calling for continued good digital cooperation in the widest possible field. The calculators were developed by P\u00e9tur Ingi Sigf\u00fasson, who is undertaking a summer placement with the Service and Development Department through a joint summer initiative by the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the Employment Authority. P\u00e9tur is a programming student at the University of Reykjav\u00edk.<\/p>\n

Calculator for a holiday club<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With the new after-school club calculator, parents and guardians can easily work out the cost of the after-school club, and see a breakdown of the attendance fee and food fee. The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur after-school clubs are for children in Years 1-4 and operate at all primary schools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Parents can choose the number of days their child attends, with payment made on a per-day basis. The fee includes an afternoon snack, supervision, and extended hours on days when the service is open all day. A sibling discount is available, calculated on the standard care fee for each child beyond the first.<\/p>\n

Nursery attendance calculator<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fee schedule for nursery attendance is one of the fee schedules that tends to be confusing for service users. Over the years, various discounts and new criteria have been introduced, such as sibling discounts, and parents and guardians can now easily work out the cost for themselves based on the number of children and the length of stay. Apply specifically for a means-tested discount via the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Municipality's My Pages portal.<\/p>\n

Property tax calculator<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the introduction of a new property tax calculator, residents can work out how much property tax they need to pay annually and have the monthly payment displayed. A breakdown of the charges is also provided, further enhancing the transparency of the fee schedule. The property tax is based on the valuation of the house and plot, and the calculator assumes the property has at least been registered as substantially complete \u2013 construction stage 4 or higher.<\/p>\n
