Around 4,300 children from Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will be starting school this<br \/>\nin the autumn, of which about 4,000 are in the primary school of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and of those, nearly 400<br \/>\nchildren starting Year 1. Eleven primary schools are operating in the town, nine of<br \/>\nthe municipality, but in addition, there are the Hjalli School of the Hjalli Method and Nu \u2013 Forward-thinking<br \/>\nEducation: independently run primary schools in the town.<\/p>\n<p>The change will take place in the autumn of 2020, when Engidalssk\u00f3li takes over.<br \/>\nwill reopen as an independent primary school after a 10-year hiatus. Pupils will be there in<br \/>\nYears 1-6 this winter, and then up to Year 7 from autumn 2021. <a href=\"\/en\/province\/news\/a-new-head-teacher-for-engidalsskoli-has-been-appointed\/\" class=\"internal\"> The new head teacher of Engidal School is Margr\u00e9t Halld\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p><strong>School begins with<br \/>\nin a natural way <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As has been reported in the media about the decisions<br \/>\nThe government's aim is for schooling to begin as normal in primary schools this autumn.<br \/>\nThat means that teaching will be according to the timetable for all students. Some<br \/>\n4,300 children from Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are going back to school this autumn.
