The day centre was originally closed<br \/>\ndue to the Covid-19 pandemic in early March and subsequently launching extensive<br \/>\nRefurbishment of the ground floor in the older part of S\u00f3lvangur, which has housed the day stay for about<br \/>\nfor years. The setting has become most splendid, at once homely and welcoming as<br \/>\nfits in very well with the beautiful surroundings of S\u00f3lvangur. Also on<br \/>\nOn-site nursing and medical services are provided, and transport to and from home is available.<br \/>\nA day centre for senior citizens has been run at S\u00f3lvangur since 1 June 2013, when<br \/>\nThe Ministry of Welfare authorised the operation of eight day-care places. At the beginning of the year<br \/>\nIn 2018, the number of rooms was increased by six, and fourteen rooms have been operated at S\u00f3lvangur since<br \/>\nat that time.
