The Road Administration's tender was for the dualling of the Reykjanesbraut (41) in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, specifically the 3.2-kilometre section between Kald\u00e1rselvegur and Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edkurvegur. The tender also included the construction of a new road bridge over Strandgata, two footbridges over the Reykjanesbraut at \u00c1sland and \u00deorl\u00e1kst\u00fan, as well as the installation of extensive noise barriers. The project also included alterations to the utility networks as well as new installations, and finally, site clearance and landscaping.<\/p>\n<p>Project: Reykjanesbraut (41) Kald\u00e1rselsvegur \u2013 Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edkurvegur, is notable as this section of road is the first to be completed of those belonging to the Capital Area Transport Agreement, and also because the future route of the Borgarl\u00ednan is planned to run under the Reykjanesbraut at Strandgata.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cdSTAK was the contractor for the project, while Mannvit was responsible for supervision.
