Towards the end of 2020, the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur invited tenders for both legal and contractual insurance, and other insurance for the municipality and its affiliated parties. Tenders were opened on Friday, 4 December 2020, and it emerged that V\u00e1tryggingarf\u00e9lag \u00cdslands hf. (V\u00cdS) had the lowest tender. Three parties submitted a tender.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the end of 2020, specifically on Wednesday, 30 December, the Mayor of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir, and Reynir Le\u00f3sson, Head of Corporate at V\u00cdS, signed a three-year agreement for insurance business. The agreement is valid from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2023, with the option to extend twice for one year at a time. Thus, during the 2021-2023 period, V\u00cdS will insure the interests of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and its affiliated entities. Related parties are the Housing Office of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Harbour, Hafnarborg, Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Waterworks, Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 Housing Association Ltd and Heimilin Housing Association Ltd. V\u00cdS has therefore, from 1 January 2021, managed all loss adjustment services for and on behalf of these entities. The service applies equally to staff, institutions and customers, and whether or not claims fall under the excess. The parties also commit to a close partnership on prevention during the term of the agreement, and V\u00cdS will provide the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and its affiliated parties with prevention services free of charge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
