All the detached house plots in Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar are sold, and it is a race against time to secure a plot for a detached house in the area. <a class=\"internal\" href=\"\/en\/province\/meeting-minutes\/displaymeeting.aspx\/?id=R_LKTsiGO0eqC_SJAZpYw1&amp;text=\"> At a meeting of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur town council yesterday, applications for 14 plots of land were approved.<\/a> Thus, there are now only 28 plots available for allocation in the entire Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar neighbourhood; 3 plots for semi-detached houses, 24 plots for terraced houses and 1 plot for a triplex. A number of applications are already on the agenda for the meeting of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Town Council on 28 January.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201eThis great interest in detached plots in the neighbourhood is a testament to how fantastic the location of the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0arhverfi is. The dualling of the Reykjanesbraut, the introduction of \u00c1svallabraut and the relocation of the Hamranes lines have undoubtedly boosted interest in the neighbourhood, which will, in the long term, be regarded as one of the most attractive and family-friendly residential areas in the greater capital region. Easy access to shops and services, a strong sports programme, a primary school, a nursery school and a music school also plays a significant part, as this is a unique feature of new developments such as this. The Hamranesi area will be developed alongside the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar neighbourhood.&nbsp;<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>A popular residential area with the Highlands of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in its back garden.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There has been significant development in the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0ar neighbourhood recently. The first residents moved into the area in the summer of 2019, and by then, Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0arsk\u00f3li was already in full swing, with a nursery school opening in the autumn under the same roof. In the summer of 2020, the school community's premises in Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 were completed and today house a comprehensive primary school, a four-department nursery school, a music school, and a sports hall for both school stages. The schools and their activities partly serve the new development in Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 and Vallahverfi. Furthermore, further development of sports facilities at \u00c1svellir is planned, which will further improve the nearby services and facilities in the neighbourhoods. The dualling of the Reykjanesbraut was completed at the end of 2020, and in the spring, construction began on the \u00c1svallabraut, which connects the Vallahverfi, Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0arhverfi and \u00c1sland districts. The \u00c1svallabraut is scheduled for completion in autumn 2021, at which point Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0 and the inner neighbourhoods of V\u00f6llunum will be better connected to Kald\u00e1rselsvegur and the Reykjanesbraut.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Planning, road construction and infrastructure development are in full swing at the moment in Hamranes, which lies beside the Skar\u00f0shl\u00ed\u00f0arhverfi and Vallahverfi areas. Efforts will be made to develop the neighbourhood to meet the demand and interest for both flats and plots of land in the area. <em> \u201eHamranes is a 25-hectare development area, and the basic concept is that the neighbourhood's layout will reflect the market's need for a variety of flat sizes.
