The annual report of the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for the year 2020 was presented to the town council today.<\/a> <\/h4>\n

The operating result for A and B sections of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur was positive.
\nabout 2.3 billion kr\u00f3na in 2020. For Section A, the result was a surplus of 1.6
\nbillions of kroner. Despite the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on tax revenues
\nand expenditure, the core operations of the municipal budget were sound last year. In addition to that
\nsale of approximately 15% of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's share in HS Veitur hf. and land sales which have
\na significant positive effect on the year's operating result.<\/p>\n

\u201eHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has faced the negative effects of Covid-19
\nof the pandemic by strengthening the economic foundations of the municipality,\u201c
\n<\/em>says R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0bjartsd\u00f3ttir, the mayor. \u201eIn recent years, indebtedness
\nHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's share is steadily decreasing, with the sale of about 15% of the town's stake in HS
\nThe situation is such that the debt ratio of the municipal fund has not been lower for decades. This
\nImproved position completely changes the town's ability to tackle economic uncertainty.

\nbillions of kroner.<\/p>\n

Investments in the year 2020 amounted to 3.4 billion kr\u00f3na.
\nTotal assets at the end of the year amounted to a total of 67 billion kr\u00f3na and increased by 7.4
\nbillion kroner year-on-year. Total debts and liabilities amounted to a total of 50
\nbillion kr\u00f3na and increased by 4.7 billion kr\u00f3na year-on-year. <\/p>\n
