The city authorities and staff of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur wish the residents and friends of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur a happy summer, with thanks for an incredible and unusual winter! It is a fitting opportunity, now that brighter days lie ahead, to praise the people of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the staff of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the businesses and institutions in the town for their exceptional adaptability and tolerance during a time that can truly be called unprecedented, as the community as a whole is experiencing and tackling previously unknown tasks and challenges. <\/p>\n
A big and heartfelt thank you to you all! <\/strong><\/p>\n This year, as was the case last year, there will be few events and a shared festive programme on the first of May itself, and the Hraunb\u00faar Scout Association parade and the FH Cross-Country Run at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan have been postponed. All groups are emphasising a cheerful approach to the current situation and are encouraging residents to look for entertainment and joy in their local area. After all, Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is rather well-placed when it comes to adventure and joy on its doorstep. Thus, we celebrate summer in a different format for the second year running. Our two bouncy castles in V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan and \u00d3la Run t\u00fan have been opened. Entry to our museums is free, as is swimming for children and young people aged 17 and under.
