Grants from the Culture and Tourism Committee of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for projects and events were awarded at a ceremony in the B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 on the last day of winter, alongside the appointment of the Artist in Residence. On this occasion, 14 projects received grants. Collaboration agreements are also in place for the Heart of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, the Song Festival at Hafnarborg, the Viking Festival in V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan, the HEIMA festival, and for the concert activities of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Band.<\/p>\n
Cultural grants are awarded twice a year to individuals and projects that are likely to further enrich and deepen the town's arts scene. The allocation of grants by the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is based on an assessment of applications. Cultural events, artists, associations or institutions applying for a grant must be connected to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in some way. Examples of this include permanent residency, an event\/project taking place in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and\/or a project involving the promotion of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's cultural activities.<\/p>\n
The total amount of grants in this allocation is 2.9 million. In total, 11 million will be allocated in the form of cultural grants in 2021.<\/p>\n
