The maximum number of participants in sports and the performing arts will be 75 in each enclosure or on stage, and the maximum number of guests at seated events will increase from 100 to 150. Additionally, the opening hours for restaurants will be extended by one hour. There will also be various relaxations for school activities. Health Minister Svand\u00eds Svavarsd\u00f3ttir has decided on these changes in line with the recommendations of the Director of Public Health. They will come into effect from Monday, 10 May, and are set to last for just over two weeks.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjornarradid.is\/default.aspx?pageid=e5cf150d-33a7-11e6-80c7-005056bc217f&amp;newsid=e1d47f30-af2d-11eb-8137-005056bc8c60\">See the announcement on the website of the Cabinet Office.&nbsp;<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>A memorandum from the Director of Public Health to the Minister of Health states that various border measures, introduced due to outbreaks initially traced to travellers at the border who did not adhere to quarantine and\/or isolation rules, have proven successful. In recent days, few infections have been detected each day outside of quarantine. It can therefore be assumed that the aforementioned cluster infections have been brought under control, although it cannot be said that the virus causing COVID-19 has been eradicated from the community.<\/p>\n<h4>The changes that take effect on Monday are as follows:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>General mass restrictions<\/strong> from 20 to 50 people. Children born in 2015 and later will remain exempt.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rule of proximity<\/strong> remain generally two metres.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Face mask requirement and guidance on their use remain unchanged<\/strong>. Children born in 2005 and later are exempt from the mask requirement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Swimming pools, ski resorts, campsites and museums<\/strong> Open for 75% of the maximum permitted number of guests. Children born in 2015 and later are not included.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gyms<\/strong> Allows for 75% of the permitted maximum number of guests, with no more than 50 people in any one room. All other conditions remain unchanged.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sports: <\/strong>Maximum number of participants in sports: 75 instead of 50 in each section.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Performing arts:<\/strong> Maximum number of participants: 75 instead of 50 in each section\/on each stage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seated events: <\/strong>The maximum number of spectators or guests at seated events, such as sports matches, performing arts, and events held by religious and belief organisations, will be 150 people per social bubble, instead of 100.
