Recently, packets of mixed herbs were distributed to all homes in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. This was a summer gift from the healthy city of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, intended to encourage growth, well-being and, perhaps not least, a shared interest and enjoyable moments together for the whole family. This week, all the after-school clubs in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur also received seed packs as a gift, with an encouragement to grow things indoors. A cheerful group of managers at each location was on hand to gratefully receive the gifts in the fine weather that has characterised life in the Fjord in recent days. <\/p>\n

A wide range of activities will be running through the leisure centres in the summer of 2021.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Gardening is a rewarding activity for everyone \u2013 young and old. <\/h4>\n

These are seed packs containing five seeds of aromatic herbs for growing your own. The town's seed packs have now been sent to all homes in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur that accept bulk mail, and have been distributed to staff and pupils at all of the town's leisure centres. It is planned to give more groups in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur seed packs specifically to spark an interest in growing their own produce and the spiritual and physical nourishment that comes with such cultivation.<\/p>\n

\"20210526_081152\"The cultivation is going well, for example, at the Sm\u00e1ralundur nursery school, which received a visit and encouragement from the mayor about a month ago. Here is a picture of the cultivation there, and it is probably time for repotting. <\/p>\n

It has come to our attention that some households in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur do not appear to have received a seed packet through their letterbox. Seed packs are available from the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Customer Service during its opening hours. Family Parks of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/a> are open to all residents and are a fantastic opportunity for families and individuals in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur to grow their own vegetables and look after them this summer. The family allotments will be open at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0ir and on \u00d6ldugata. The cost for one plot is kr. 1,541 and for two plots kr. 2,568. The plots will be supplied tilled, and allocation will begin towards the end of May. Vegetables or other planting materials are not included in the price, but water and basic tools will be available. Registration is now open and takes place here \u2013 you will need to select your municipality and your preferred family garden location (\u00d6ldut\u00fan Family Garden\/V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0ir Family Garden).<\/p>\n

The Fairy Town of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/h4>\n

One of the main aims of the Healthy City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is to encourage residents to take good care of their mental and physical well-being and health. As such, the health town has adopted the practice of regularly introducing residents to health-promoting ideas and information about the opportunities that lie in the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur hinterland and in the outdoor gems and areas found throughout the town.<\/p>\n
