Most walks take about an hour, participation is free and everyone is welcome. The walks are a collaboration between Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Library, the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Folk Museum, Hafnarborg and Healthy Town of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 June at 20:00 \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>The Sculpture Park 30 years<br \/><\/strong>Art historian and guide Eir\u00edkur Hallgr\u00edmsson leads a walk through the sculpture park at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Art Festival held in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, which laid the foundation for the sculpture park. <em>The procession from V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0akirkja.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>9th June at 8 p.m. \u2013 Poem Walk around Hvaleyrarvatn<\/strong><br \/>Walker Einar Sk\u00falason leads a walk on the paths around Hvaleyrarvatn. Every now and then, there will be a stop and verses will be recited with the help of a few members of the group. <em>The path from the car park to the west of the lake leads to V\u00f6llum.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>16th June at 17:00 \u2013 1001 shoes \u2013 a children's walk with stories and songs<\/strong><br \/>An easy walk for the youngest age group accompanied by adults, where history takes place with<br \/>songs and games. Information leaflets available from the reception desk. <em>The walk from J\u00f3fr\u00ed\u00f0arsta\u00f0ir.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>23rd June at 18:00 \u2013 Family walk through the Fja\u00f0r\u00e1r<\/strong><br \/>Margr\u00e9t Gauja Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir leads a short and easy walk through Gj\u00e1rnar. The family will be there.<br \/>together and get a list of things to find and do on the walk and share on Instagram. <em>The walk<br \/>the car park at Kald\u00e1rselsveg.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>30 June at 20:00 \u2013 The Corner Shopkeeper<\/strong><br \/>Bj\u00f6rn P\u00e9tursson and J\u00f3natan Gar\u00f0arsson lead a walk through the old town centre and reminisce about the time when co-ops were on every other street corner. <em>The walk from the Packhouse of the Folk Museum.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>7th July at 20:00 \u2013 V\u00e6r\u00f0arst\u00edgur<\/strong><br \/>Valger\u00f0ur Hr\u00f3\u00f0marsd\u00f3ttir leads a walk along V\u00e6r\u00f0arst\u00edg in the grounds of the Forestry Society.<br \/>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur which ends at V\u00e6r\u00f0arlundi by Hvaleyrarvatn. <em>From the car park at<br \/>Weather station at Kald\u00e1rselsveg. Drive about 50 metres past the entrance to the Forestry Society.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>14 July at 20:00 \u2013 The Artworks and History of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/strong><br \/>Ald\u00eds Arnard\u00f3ttir, Director of Hafnarborg, and Bj\u00f6rn P\u00e9tursson, Municipal Curator of Antiquities,<br \/>Lead a walk where the history of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the town's outdoor art are connected. <em>The walk<br \/>Hellisger\u00f0i.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>21 July at 20:00 \u2013 Golf and history walk around Hvaleyrina<\/strong><br \/>\u00d3lafur \u00de\u00f3r \u00c1g\u00fastsson, manager of Keiliskot Golf Club, leads a walk through<br \/>public walking trails at our golf course, covering monuments, stories and culture. <em>From the car park at the Keilis golf clubhouse.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>28th July at 20:00 \u2013 Thorbjarnarsta\u00f0ir<\/strong><br \/>Atli R\u00fanarsson, an archaeologist, leads a walk around the remains of the settlement of \u00deorbjarnarsta\u00f0ir, which was inhabited from the 14th century until the 20th century.&nbsp;<em>The path from Ger\u00f0i\u00f0 at Straumsv\u00edk.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>4th August at 20:00 \u2013 The churches in town<\/strong><br \/>Eir\u00edks\u00edna Eyja \u00c1sgr\u00edmsd\u00f3ttir, a teacher and literary scholar, leads a historical walk between<br \/>the churches of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. There she discusses architectural history, culture and social relations in<br \/>around the churches in the town. <em>The walk from the Packhouse of the Folk Museum.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>11 August at 18:00 \u2013 Valab\u00f3l<\/strong><br \/>Guide \u00d3lafur Sveinsson leads a family walk for energetic children and families.<br \/>theirs in Valab\u00f3l. The path from the car park on Kald\u00e1rselsveg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18 August at 20:00 \u2013 \u00c1svellir<br \/><\/strong>Magn\u00fas Gunnarsson, the manager of Haukar, walks guests around \u00c1svellir and tells them its history. <em>The walk from the sports centre at \u00c1svellir.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>25th August at 17:00 \u2013 Buslganga to Arnarvatn<\/strong><br \/>Dav\u00ed\u00f0 Arnar Stef\u00e1nsson, an expert at the Land Restoration Authority, is leading a walk to Arnarvatn.
