The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the Tennis Club of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur signed a one-year service agreement in fine weather at the tennis court in V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan in May. The agreement covers all the services provided by the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Tennis Club to residents of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and how the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will pay the club for these services. The fixed contribution from the municipality under the agreement is 400,000 kr. Talks on the renewal of the agreement will take place this autumn, taking into account the number of members of the club and the success of its operations during the year.<\/p>\n

In the interest of diversity and value for educational and preventative work <\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Healthy City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur celebrates diversity and, in all its work and projects, actively strives to support and promote a diverse and creative sports and leisure activities for children and young people. It is therefore particularly pleasing to sign a service agreement with the newly established Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Tennis Club. The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Tennis Club offers organised sports training for people of all ages. The coaching in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur extends to the youngest groups, aged 6\u20139, and training takes place in three sports halls connected to the leisure centre. There is interest in increasing the number of teaching locations for the next school year, in connection with the schools' leisure activities.\u00a0 On good, dry days, it is possible to play light games on the tennis court at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan, but the court is not currently suitable for training. New nets were installed on the court last summer, and the court was also repainted. The dream of having artificial grass on the court will hopefully become a reality before long, which will, among other things, open up the possibility of organised training sessions on the court. <\/p>\n

In collaboration with the K\u00f3pavogur Tennis Club and the Gar\u00f0ab\u00e6r Tennis Club, the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Tennis Club is offering regular training sessions at the Tennis Hall in K\u00f3pavogur. The Tennis Hall is the centre of tennis in Iceland, and clubs from many municipalities train in the hall on five indoor and three outdoor tennis courts. The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur welcomes the new agreement and extends a warm welcome to the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Tennis Club to the group of clubs in the city that have a service agreement with their local council. The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's partnership with the town's sports clubs takes into account the diversity of physical activity and the value of sports participation for educational and preventative work.<\/p>\n
