National Day begins in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur
\nat the first cock crow with a flag-hoisting on the Rock and throughout the town. All interested
\ncan take part in a parade which starts at Hraunbyrgi at 1 pm and ends at
\nThe Learning Centre by the Stream where the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Brass Band plays a few tunes. A year ago, the people of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and friends of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur were encouraged
\nto hold their own national day in the garden at home, but this year there will be an entertainment programme on offer everywhere.

Thorsplan has for years been the main festival site for National Day in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. This year, the event will take place at the Gr\u00e6na H\u00fasi\u00f0.
\nentertainment programme, however, at four venues; Hellisger\u00f0i, H\u00f6r\u00f0uvellir, V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan and
\nThorsplan. The programme is varied;
\nEverything from concerts to circus and bubble art. Artist in Residence of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
\nIn 2021, Fri\u00f0rik D\u00f3r will be taking over two venues with GDRN, and the disco D\u00edsa will
\nkeeping up the fun, Vikings will be roaming V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan and the scouts are offering in
\nplay, a climbing wall and canoeing. An open house will be held, among other places, at the Sports Hall at
\nStrandgata, Hafnarfjar\u00f0arbiblioteki\u00f0, Hafnarborg and the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Folk Museum.
\nUnexpected events will then be on offer around town. The 2021 Mountain Maiden of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and
\nHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's 2020 Artist in Residence, Bergr\u00fan \u00cdris S\u00e6varsd\u00f3ttir, will recite a poem.
