They have been inseparable since they met in the choir in their first year at MH.<\/h3>\n

The singing trio \u201e\u00c1 l\u00e9ttum n\u00f3tum\u201c, Helga Gu\u00f0n\u00fd Hallsd\u00f3ttir, Breki Sigur\u00f0arson and Laufey \u00d3sk J\u00f3ns, have been singing widely around Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur this summer as part of the Creative Summer Jobs programme. The members of the group met in their first year in the choir at Menntask\u00f3linn vi\u00f0 Hamrahl\u00ed\u00f0 and have been inseparable ever since. The group specialises in choral music, and their aim is to perform, promote and educate people about choral music, as well as to entertain residents and visitors throughout the summer. Their repertoire includes classics such as; N\u00fa andar su\u00f0ri\u00f0, \u00d3, blessu\u00f0 vertu sumars\u00f3l, Hver \u00e1 s\u00e9r fegra f\u00f6\u00f0urland and Vikivaki. <\/p>\n

A wide range of interests<\/h3>\n

The trio shares an interest in choral singing, as well as having their own varied interests. Helga Helga (alto) is a cellist with a keen interest in the performing arts, Breki (tenor) is an illustrator, tuba player and composer, and Laufey (soprano) is studying psychology at the University of Iceland, as well as attending the Reykjav\u00edk School of Singing, with the aim of studying choral conducting. <\/p>\n

The three singing birds can be followed on Instagram, where they share various photographs and videos of musical performances, information about concerts, facts and the history of music, and all sorts of fun and entertainment that should appeal to everyone. Creative summer jobs are part of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Summer Job Scheme \u2013 nine projects for summer 2021. <\/h3>\n

Creative summer jobs with the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are part of the summer programme for the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Work School. Creative summer jobs are advertised separately, and individuals and groups are invited to submit ideas for creative projects with their application. These projects are designed to bring even more life to the town over the summer, making it more fun, beautiful and diverse through artistic and creative events. Particular attention is paid to the diversity of projects and to ensuring they appeal to different age groups and interests. The selected groups will then have the opportunity to liven up the social life and entertainment in the heart of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, delighting tourists and residents with all sorts of initiatives. This is one of these projects, undertaken on a lighter note. Eight other creative projects are being run by the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Work School this year, and these will also be featured on the council's media channels.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
