At the end of May 2021 The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Town Council approved a plan for monitoring and ongoing measures regarding Covid-19 for the summer of 2021.<\/a>. This decision and the measures taken included, amongst other things, contributions towards renovation, refurbishment, maintenance and finishing works following construction projects in both the older and newer areas of the municipality. In total, 340 million kr\u00f3nur have been added to the year's budget for maintenance and infrastructure projects. Of this, an additional 180 million kr\u00f3nur will be allocated to the renewal and refurbishment of pavements in older neighbourhoods. The 2021 budget provides for 20 million kr\u00f3na for this renewal, meaning that 200 million kr\u00f3na will be allocated to the renewal and improvement of pavements in older neighbourhoods this year.<\/p>\n

Classes sorted by repair need<\/h4>\n

Many of the projects have been carried out this summer, as can be seen in neighbourhoods across the town. The prioritisation of works was based on a project list where pavements in all the town's neighbourhoods were ranked according to their need for repair. The largest projects involved removing and re-pouring concrete or resurfacing pavements. Elsewhere, pavements were repaired and, in many places, concrete kerbs were renewed. The accompanying maps provide an overview of the works that have been carried out, as well as those planned for this autumn and the coming year. <\/p>\n
