New smart solutions have been well received by residents and other service users, and new methods of communication and information sharing are proving effective. Digital changes and developments in general service opening hours in society have, among other things, had a direct impact on visits to the service centre at Strandgata 6.<\/p>\n<h4>From 1 November 2021, the customer service closes at 2 p.m. on Fridays.<\/h4>\n<p>From 1 November 2021, there will be a change to the opening hours of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur service centre on Fridays. It will then be open from 8 am to 2 pm. On all other weekdays, it will remain open from 8 am to 4 pm. You can still submit feedback via the feedback portal 24\/7, or send an email to the following address: <a href=\"mailto:hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is<\/a> as well as the fact that almost all service applications are now online and can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/innskraning.island.is\/?id=ibuagatt.hafnarfjordur.is\">Our pages<\/a>.Paper documents can be returned at any time of the day or night through the letterbox of the Town Hall at 6 Strandgata. The service centre's emergency telephone number is available outside opening hours, as before.<\/p>\n<h4>Development in step with changes in society<\/h4>\n<p>The decision to change opening hours is based on an analysis of the numerical trends in visits, telephone calls, online chats and service utilisation, alongside developments and changes to opening hours at other local authorities and public institutions. This development is in line with societal trends, influenced by factors such as the reduction of the working week and increased opportunities for self-service. The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Service Centre was opened on 1 September 2003, and the staff of the service centre and the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur have striven to ensure that service to residents is always exemplary.
