Christmas swimming is a great opportunity for togetherness, and the swimming pools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are well-suited to meeting the needs of all community groups, as they are all different. There are three swimming pools, and each has its own distinct character and charm. Thus, the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Swimming Pool is characterised by its history and tranquil atmosphere, \u00c1svallalaug by its family-friendly environment and heated indoor pool for younger children, and the Su\u00f0urb\u00e6jarlaug by its beautiful outdoor area and open-air pool.<\/p>\n

Capacity restrictions at the swimming pools<\/h4>\n

From Thursday, 23rd December, all swimming pools in the municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will admit 501 people, the maximum permitted under their operating licence. Children born in 2016 or later are not included. This measure is in accordance with the regulations on Covid-19 measures.<\/p>\n

How many people are swimming now?<\/h4>\n

Right at the start of Covid-19, when it became clear that the pandemic would affect the council's swimming pool services, it was decided to launch an information page on the number of visitors in each pool to minimise, and preferably prevent, waiting for a place to swim. On each swimming pool's page, you can see real-time information about the number of visitors and how many spaces are available.<\/p>\n

Visitors are encouraged to observe the 1-metre rule at all times and maintain the highest standards of hygiene, as co-operation in public health is essential to keeping the swimming pools open.<\/p>\n
