This year, the children's work of the Women's Refuge in Reykjav\u00edk was chosen, and a representative of theirs, or a representative of the children, social worker Bergd\u00eds \u00cdr, visited the nursery yesterday and accepted a cheque for the amount of 72,500 kr\u00f3na. A bonfire and singing were enjoyed in the beautiful weather, as the 2021 Advent good deed was presented.<\/p>\n<h4>Staff have delighted these organisations at Christmas in recent years:<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2016 Single children<\/li>\n<li>2017 Care \u2013 Association of Children with Chronic Illness<\/li>\n<li>2018 The Spark \u2013 The Spark \u2013 charity for children with heart disease<\/li>\n<li>2019 The Drop \u2013 a charity for children with diabetes<\/li>\n<li>2020 Birchwood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Tin can fund for a project against hunger in Somalia<\/h4>\n<p>In addition to this contribution from the nursery staff, all the nursery's tin money goes to the Red Cross's children's work, and has done for several years. This year, the money is going directly to a project related to the anti-hunger campaign in Somalia. Parents and guardians of the nursery's children have taken an active part in this project alongside the nursery.
